Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign
How does Invisalign straighten your teeth?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gently move your teeth into place. You'll wear each set for about one to two weeks before switching to the next one. No metal brackets or wires needed! We'll create a digital plan showing how your smile will change from start to finish.
How long will your treatment take?
Will Invisalign feel uncomfortable?
You might feel some pressure for a few days after switching to new aligners. This mild discomfort actually means your treatment is working! Many patients find Invisalign more comfortable than traditional braces since there are no metal parts to cause irritation. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help with any temporary discomfort.
Can you eat and drink normally during treatment?
Yes! Just remove your aligners when eating or drinking anything besides water. This gives you more freedom than traditional braces. You don't have to worry about food restrictions. Simply brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in to prevent staining. Remember to wear them 20 to 22 hours daily to stay on track.
Is Invisalign good for teenagers?
Absolutely! Invisalign Teen is designed specifically for younger patients. It includes special blue indicators that fade with proper wear, helping teens and parents monitor usage. It also comes with replacement aligners in case any get lost. Many teens prefer Invisalign because it's less noticeable during these important social years.
What happens after you finish treatment?
You'll wear retainers to keep your new smile in place. At first, you'll wear them full-time, then only at night. This step is crucial to prevent your teeth from shifting back. We'll create custom retainers and show you how to care for them to maintain your beautiful results.
How do you get started?
It's easy! Just schedule a visit with us to see if Invisalign is right for you. We'll examine your teeth, discuss your smile goals, and answer your questions. If you decide to move forward, we'll take digital scans to create your custom treatment plan. You'll even see a preview of your new smile before your aligners are made!
Is Invisalign right for you?
Most likely! Invisalign works wonderfully for crowded teeth, gaps, and many bite issues. We see amazing results in patients of all ages. During your visit, we'll look at your smile together and create a plan just for you.
